Sister Tracy Watson Received into Novitiate

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, Sister Tracy Watson was received into the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet during a ceremony in the Provincial House chapel.

The cover image on Sister Tracy’s program was “The Flight into Egypt” by Br. Mickey McGrath, OSFS. According to Tracy, “Joseph and the Holy Family being on journey resonates with me. I am filled with joy and encouragement when I see all of those people following behind the Holy Family in solidarity because it calls to my heart just how delicately and purposefully God has woven together all the pieces of my life and brings me to this moment as I enter into the Congregational Novitiate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.”

During the Reception Ceremony, Sister Mary Anne Heenan welcomed the sisters and guests on behalf of the province. Sister Miriam Ukeritis listened to Sister Tracy’s request to enter the novitiate and then accepted on behalf of the congregation. Following the acceptance of the request, Sister Mary Anne Heenan presented Tracy with a copy of the Constitution, and Sister Ann Christi Brink, a member of the province’s Initial Group, presented Tracy with a St. Joseph medal. Members of Tracy’s local community, Sisters Doreen Glynn, Kitty Hanley, Clementine Lynch and Lucille Theroux read selected pieces, and Sister Rose Casaleno gave reflections on the meaning of this next step for Tracy. The Reception Ceremony concluded with a blessing by Sister Chris Partisano, Tracy’s daughter, Jenna, and all who were in attendance.

Sister Tracy is now at the Congregational Novitiate House in Porter Ranch, CA.
